Data Security
Last Updated: February 25, 2026
At Inspection Builder, we take the security of your data seriously. Our platform is built on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and designed with security best practices at every layer.
Infrastructure Security - Google Cloud Platform
Inspection Builder is hosted entirely on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), one of the most secure cloud platforms in the world. Google Cloud maintains the following independent certifications and audit reports for its infrastructure, which directly covers the services our platform runs on (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage):
- SOC 1 / SOC 2 / SOC 3 - Independent audits of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy controls.
View Google Cloud SOC 2 Compliance Details
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022 - Information security management system certification.
View Google Cloud ISO 27001 Certificate
- ISO/IEC 27017 - Cloud-specific security controls.
- ISO/IEC 27018 - Protection of personally identifiable information (PII) in public clouds.
- PCI DSS - Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance.
For a full list of Google Cloud certifications, visit the Google Cloud Compliance Offerings page.
Physical Data Center Security
Google Cloud data centers provide:
- 24/7 physical security monitoring with biometric access controls
- Redundant power, cooling, and networking systems
- Geographic redundancy for disaster recovery
- Environmental controls and fire suppression
Data Encryption
All customer data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using Google Cloud's built-in encryption:
- In Transit: All connections are encrypted using TLS 1.2+ (TLS 1.3 supported). This includes all API calls, web traffic, and database connections.
- At Rest: All data stored in Cloud SQL and Cloud Storage is automatically encrypted using AES-256 encryption, managed by Google's Key Management Service.
- Database: Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL enforces encrypted connections and encrypts all stored data by default.
- Backups: Automated backups are encrypted using the same AES-256 standard.
Application-Level Security
Beyond the infrastructure layer, Inspection Builder implements the following security measures in our application:
Authentication & Access Control
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Granular permission system with configurable roles (Admin, Manager, Inspector, Customer)
- OAuth 2.0 Single Sign-On: Integration with Google and Microsoft identity providers
- Session Management: Secure session handling with configurable timeout policies
- Permission Scoping: Fine-grained permissions at the tenant, resource, and action level
Multi-Tenant Data Isolation
Our platform enforces strict data isolation between customer accounts:
- Separate Databases: Each customer organization has its own isolated database - data is never co-mingled
- Tenant Context Enforcement: Every API request is validated against the authenticated tenant context before any data access
- No Cross-Tenant Access: It is architecturally impossible for one tenant to access another tenant's data
Secure Development Practices
- Code reviews for all changes before deployment
- Dependency vulnerability monitoring via automated tools
- Input validation and sanitization to prevent injection attacks
- HTTPS-only access enforced on all endpoints
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Automated Backups: Daily automated backups via Google Cloud SQL
- Point-in-Time Recovery: Ability to restore data to any point within the backup retention window
- Geographic Redundancy: Data is stored with regional redundancy to protect against localized failures
Compliance Support
Inspection Builder helps organizations meet various regulatory requirements:
- GDPR: Data export and deletion capabilities to support data subject rights. Contact us for a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
- Industry Standards: Configurable inspection templates to support compliance with OSHA, FDA, ISO, and other regulatory frameworks.
Incident Response
We maintain an incident response process that includes:
- Monitoring and alerting via Google Cloud's operations suite
- Defined incident classification and escalation procedures
- Customer notification within 72 hours of confirmed data breaches
- Post-incident analysis and corrective action
Transparency
We believe in being transparent about our security posture:
- Our infrastructure certifications are maintained by Google Cloud and can be verified directly through the links above
- We are happy to answer specific security questions from prospective and current customers
- Enterprise customers can request additional security documentation upon request
